The Derajat column, which is advancing in the heart of the Malioud country, was strongly opposed north of Ahuaidangi, upon which heavy fighting at close quarters occurred. 'Eight British officers were killed and six wounded, and one is missing. Six Indian officers were killed and six wounded, while of other yanks there were thirty-five killed and 278 wounded, and forty are missing. An aeroplane was shot down, but the airmen are. safe. Tlie Mahonds losses were at least 130 killed and 380 wounded. After the engagement, recalcitrant leaders asked for the advance to stop, when they would comply with the terms. The following day was quiet.
