ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. A FIRMER MARKET. (By Talegraph.—Special to Cuardian. •CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday:—
•Fat Cattle.—Hi ore was a medium yarding and prices were a shade lower for best steers. Freezers were operating in cow beef and iuferior steers, extra steers £29 ss, prime £l9 10s to £23, cows and heifers £2l 10s to £23 and up to £25 for extra. Store Cattle.—There was a largo yarding and the demand was dull. One line of wellibred 3 and 4-year old steers in good condition made from £2l 5s to £22 ss. Hereford 2-year old heifers made £6 2s. A line of 18-months steers (good sorts) £5 10s dry cows £5 to £8 10s. Bulls were selling extra well at up to £2O for heavy. Store Sheep.—There was a medium yarding and the sale was a shade brighter than last week. Best wethers sold up to 28s 6d, best rape ewes 22s 6d to 235, others 14s 6d to 275, fourtotli ewes from 23s to 25s Bd, twotooth wethers from 16s to 19s, twotooth ewes from 19s to 23s 6d. The market generally was firmer at these rates.
Fat Sheep.—A heavy yarding comprising all classes. Freezing buyers operated keenly, and bought heavy. The market was firmer all round than last week. Best wethers sold to 425, a few extra to 44s 9d, prime 34s to 39s sd, medium (lighter) 29s 6d to 33s 6d, inferior 26s to 28s. Ewes showed a proportionate rise. ILambs were also firmer, freezers operating keenly.
