IRISH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS (Received This Day at 6 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 15. Unusual importance is attached to the Irish municipal elections to-day. It is anticipated Sinn Feiners will control the Councils outside of Ulster. The results of proportional representation are waited with interest.

AN IRISH DISMISSAL. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 15. There have been many hints that the dismissal of Byrne, head of the Irish Constabulary was’ due to defects in his administration. It is generally admitted that he is personally popular with the force. The only specific suggestion hitherto has been the continued disappearance of ammunition, which Byrne’s departmenttailed to prevent.
