In an official jnvitnt’oq fq t]ie first meeting of the Council of the League qf Nations, Mr Wilson points ouf tliqt tne gathering will mark the beginning of $ new era in international co-operation, and is the first step towards an ideal concert of nations. It will bring ihe League of Nations into being as a living force devoted to the task of assisting the peoples of all countries in their desire for peace, prosperity and happiness. The President is convinced that its progress will be in accord with the noble purpose to which it is dedicated.
