McLEAN’S PICTURES.
To-morrow (Wednesday) Mr McLean will present John Barrymore in “On tho Quiet,” a 5-reel Paramount. Tho story tells of a youth Ridgway, of habits none too temperate. Ho wishes to marry a charming member of the “Four Hundred” but she possesses a superior and Puritan brother who objects to her Don Juan. They are married secretly, however, and Ridgway departs for college, there to study hard reform and graduate. But ill-luc-k is his portion, and while obliging a brother-in-law, who wishes to find out whether his wife loves him by giving chorus girls supper in his suite, tho family arrive on a surprise visit. Laughable situations ensue, but a happy ending concludes a really enjoyable photoplay. Mr Barrymore is ably assisted by Miss Wanda Hawley, a clever comedienne. A two reel comedy and latest Gazette support the star picture.
