POLLARD 3 ? PICTURE*. “THE FAIR PRETENDER.” This evening Pollards will present those two electric favorites Madgo Kennedy and Tom Moore in the big Goldwyn comdey feature “The Fair Pretender.” A girl selected a name at random from a telephone book, and in order to prove her ability as an actress, passed herself off as the widow of the man owning the name. This 's the theme of “The Fair Pretender,” Madgo Kennedy’s latest Goldwyn release now sho - ing. How the supposed dead husband materialises in real life and causes embarrassing complications, which are ably contributed to by Tom Moore as an author of ability, blit on whom success has not smiled, makes a rich comedy with humorous situations. The author poses as a success man, and when the two bluffers meet and the danger of their bluff being called seems imminent, fate steps into the game and takes 'a hand. The trump card is a foreign spy whose nefarious schemes serve to bring the two lovers together. Pollard’s usual picture prices will be charged.
