HOSTILITY TO GERMANS. BRISBANE, 'January. 9
On the arrival of a steamer at Port Moresby (Papua), from Sydney, with three naturalised Germans, aboard, who had boon sent back to Papua, by the Federal Defence Department, a number of returned soldiers at Port Moresby refused to allow tlio Germans to stay there, and forced them aboard the steamer to return to Sydney.
SIR E. BARTON’S FUNERAL. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 10. Sir E. Barton was accorded an impressive State funeral. There were great crowds in the streets, who paid silent homage.
