ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. FIRM PRICES. (B> Telegraph Special to Guardian. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs J\iatson and 00. report as follows regarding their stock sale yesterday:— Fat Cattle—There was a large yarding with a. big proportion of cows and heifers. Freezing buyers were operating on second quality cows, but other classes were selling well above their limits. Extra steers sold to £3O; prime £22 to £26; lighter £lB to £2O; cows and heifers £ll to £ls and up to £22 for special heifers. Store Cattle —A large yarding, mostly young cattle. The demand was erratic and young cattle were dull of sale. Well bred lines of young cows sold at £7 7 S 6d to £9, 2 year old steers extra big made £l3/12/6 for good sorts and down to 30/- for indifferent. Store Sheep—There was a large entry, .comprised mostly of good Chatham wethers and backward 2 tooth wethers. All forward conditioned sheep sold well, but backward and inferior sorts were hard to quit. Best Chathams wethers up to 31/9, best local wethers from 23/to 25/-; inferior sorts from 27/- to 30/-; 4 and 6 tooth Chatham ewes to 31/3 others 25/- to 27/10 S.M. ewes 20/- to 231/6. Only a few rape lambs were offering making 21/- to 23/-. Several lots of North Island sheep were offered, bub were hard to sell. Other shipments aro now on the way.

Fat sheep—Comparatively a, small yarding and as most butchers had killed out there was a good demand. The market was 3/- to 5/- better than last week. Best wethers to 46/-, a. few extra good to 53/- • prime 36/6 to 42/-; medium 83/- to 35/6; lighter 29/6 to 32/-. Ewes, best to 42/- prime 31/- to 37/6, lighter 26/- to 30/6; inferior 22/to 25/3. A small entry lambs was firm at last week’s rates.
