BOWLING.
The Tirnaru Bowlers played the Hokitika Club on the local green in New Year’s morning. The games were of l(i heads, and after some excellent play the visitors were returned victors by 16 points, winning three rinks and drawing with the other one. The players were entertained at morning tea, and subsequently left for Greymouth, where they attended the Grey races. The scores are as follow: Tirnaru —Simmers ,Dunn, Shirtcliffe and Bust (S.) 13; Hokitika—Hickson, Macfarlane, A. King, J. H. Wilson (S.) 10. Tirnaru—Leslie, Wallace, ■ Laing, Corntis (S.) 12; Hokitika —Lloyd, Valentine, Braddon and Nalder (S). 11. Tirnaru.—Akhurst, Wilson, McLaren Carlton (S). 21; Hokitika—Feddersen, Bruce, Berry, Anderson (S.) 9. Tirnaru—Lilico, Young, Snellie and Moyes (S.) 13; Hokitika, —Thompson, Boyd, Stewart, Stevenson (S.) 13. Totals—Tirnaru 59 and Hokitika 43.
