The sum passed through the' machine totalled £35,978, against £20,997 for the first day at last New Year meeting, an increase of £14,981. The following are the results:— MAIDEN HACK —Guanaco 1, Sycorax 2, Heather Sprig 3. A good race, won by a long neck. Timp 1.15. CHRISTMAS HANDICAP.—Tari 1, Dribble 2, Croesus 3. TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP—Handy 1, Verbosity 2, Polini 3. Won by two lengths. Time 49 secs. FLYING HACK HANDICAP.—Make re 1, Hepta. 2, Impost 3. Won by a head. Time 1.14 4-5. The third day of the Auckland meeting had fine weather and a large gathering. The tote took £112,5441 comarecl with £68,936 last year.
