A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

A GREYMOUTH COLLISION. TWO PERSONS INJURED. Last, night, about 11 o’clock, a serious accident happened in lainui Street, Greymouth, says the Grey 1 Argus . It was due to a motor cycle collision at the point where Tainui Street is intersected by Puketahi St. Two motor cycles collided in the middle of tlio road, and serious injuries were sustained by, two of the three persons concerned. It seems that Captain Curtis whs riding one machine, and had as a passenger, Miss Winchester, of the stalf of the Rank of New Zealand, Greymouth. The other machine was ridden by air W. Gamble, the well-known cyce dealer.. The cycles met with considerable way on, andl the impact rendered Mr Gamble unconscious, and besides causing Miss Winchester several bruises and cuts, was responsible for her sustaining other injuries, the nature of which could not be ascertained | at the time. Captain Curtis fortunately escaped scathfcss. Mr Gamble remained for a considerable time unconscious. Dr McKay was summoned, and after brief investigation, found the sufferers’ condition, such as to necessitate their removal to the Hospital, whither they were at once conveyed. It is understood Mr Gamble regained consciousness subsequently, and that apart from a cut on the foot his injuries are not very serious. Winchester, however, proved to have sustained the worst injuries, hers being rather serious. She is a daughter of Mr Winliester, of Ross, and her many friends will hope to hear of her speedy recovery.
