HOWARD ELLIOTT. INVERCARGILL, December 18. Howard Elliott, interviewed, said: “The P.P.A., are delighted with the results of the elections, and at the extent of the Protestant influence on the polling. There was a revelation of the 'P.P.A.’s many sceptres of strength and of its discipline and organisation. There wa s a great triumph for Protestantism in Awarua. It provided a result as startling in Southland ,as throughout the Dominion. The poll shows Protestants stand to-gether. They voted solidly to maintain their traditions, privileges, institutions and liberty. The majority in tiie present Rouse should- carry the confidence of Protestants.”
