At the Police Court Ethel Victoria :: Andrews was charged with committing manslaughter in connection with tho death of her infant. This was a second charge of concealment of birth. Ihe Magistrate said that there was not. sufficient evidence to send the accused for trial on the manslaughter charge, which lie dismissed. Accused pleaded guilty to I concealment of birth and was committed for sentence. CABLE' BREAKS. WELLINGTON, Dec. 15. One of tho cables in Cook Strait, broke lately. A seaplane from Kohiniarama flying school, left at ten this morning for c Dargaville with the first aerial mail, j taking 825 letters weighing 22 pounds { and papers, making a total of fifty ; pounds weight. The conditions were ideal. An excellent start was witnessed 1 by a large nifinber of spectators.
