AUSTRALIAN SOLDIERS-’ TiEAM CHRISTCHURCH, October 30.
At a meeting of the Management Committee of tne New Zealand Cricket Council, a cablegram was read from the Australian Infantry Forces’ Cricket Team, sent from Johannesburg, stating that tlie team was willing to tour New Zealand- providing no objections were raised by the Defence authorities, who had been communicated with.
It was decided to send I lie following telegram to Sir James Allen: “The New Zealand Cricket Council has arranged for a visit of the Australian Soldiers’ and i s now leaving South Africa, to play a series of matches in New Zealand. They consent, provided leave can be arranged with tlie Australian Defence Office. Will you kindly cable to Australia, using your influence in this direction, and invite the team to New Zealand.
