AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD'S PICTURES.

TO-NIGHT

“ The Tiger’s Eye,” the 2nd episode of the Pathe Serial "The House of Hate,” and the picture version of Winston Churchill’s famous novel “ The Crisis ” will be screened by Pollards at the Princess Theatre to-night. “The Crisis” as a novel, was the best seller when published, and is now almost a classic. The screen version has been produced by the Selig Coy. with Thomas Santschi as the star, an actor that has a reputation as a strong movie actor. Bessie Eyton plays Virginia Carvel to his Stephen Brice, and the supports have all been excellently chosen. The love story of these two charming characters is of course the main interest of the film, but'an incidental interest of importance is the astonishing manner in which it brings back to life the period of American history I preceding the Civil War, and is very instructive from this point ©f view.
