At the anual meeting of the Chamber of Manufacturers, the President in an address, said the State would be appallingly handicapped by the new living wage, in competition with other States. The Council Chamber was engaged in urging the Federal Government to fix the basis of a living wage for the Commonwealth and to lift the State from the position which menaces its industrial life.
