POLLARD'S PICTURES.

“MILESTONES” TO-NIGHT

Pollards present to-night at the Princess Theatre, Arnold Bennett’s wonderful play “ Milestones ” in picture form. It is a purely British production and is credited with taking England by storm, when produced both on the stage and on the screeu. “ Milestones ”is a play of three generations iB6O, 1885 and 1914. It is a play that holds the mirror up to us. We see ourselves as we are to-day and we see that oft-visioned “ might have been ” in crinolenes and pantalettes in iB6O, or in bustles and elbow sleeves in 1885. “ Milestones ” has been one of the greatest successes of the British stage and a greater success on the screen stage. “ Milestones ” is a marvellous picture lor young and old —an education for the young and a delightful reminiscence for the old. The play is purely British —true to type, true to custom, true to character, and true to history. The theme of the story is based on English conservatism and the problem “ Should a girl trust her heart.” To whom is the marriage more important—the girl or- her ( parents ? It took an English family ; three generations to realise that true love tvas of greater importance than pride. j On Thursday nest, the first episode of the new serial, “The House of . Hate,” featuring Pearl “White and Antonio Moreno will be shown.
