SYDNEY RACES. SYDNEY, October 12. The weather was fine for the races and the attendance large. The going was good . B. Deeley rode British Arch in the Waverley Handicap, made the pace j and won easily.

Rossini' was considered a certainty in the Grantham Stakes ’ and atoned for the two previous defeats, easily aeoimting for the opposition, and gave Deeley his second win for the afternoon.

Poitrel retained his weight for age championship, easily defeating Kennaquahr and Sasanof. The following are the results:

An enquiry into the running of Parmen, third in : the Steeples, was held, and the owner S. O’Neill; and the rider ,T. Tagell ; and also the horse, were disqualified for five years.

He heads the list of winning jockeys at the meeting with five wins, two seconds and one third Mason heads the list of winning trainers, with three firsts, three seconds and one third. Greenwood is second among winning owners, having won £3,113 in stakes. The tote recorded £2,745,336 for the four days.

Sam Hordern has purchased Kenilford at a high figure. He has the intention of competing for the Melbourne Cup.
