THE OLD EOLKS AT HOME.
(Contributed.), Tile 29th. Sept. 1919, will be a day that will always live in the hearts and memories of tiie grandparents who responded to the invitation to be present' at, a social gathering in St Paul’s Methodist Church. About sixty guests assembled. They listened with delight to the message from Rev. Val Tiigge, “Light at Evening Time”. Some were over 80 years of age. Mrs Boucher, was our oldest guest, Mr Fisher had been the longest on the Coast, Mr Howard had the largest number of descendants. Mrs Thompson was the longest married. Mrs McMillan was the oldest Christian. Mrs Valentine was the oldest grand mother New Zealand born. To all these special bouquets were given and to all the rest smaller sprays of flowers. The solos rendered by Miss •Reynolds and Miss Perry were very much appreciated. Afternoon tea was then handed round and a social chat indulged in after which Rev. Triggo trendered a solo. Then our old friends wended their way home chatting about ttho lovely time that they had.
