ADVANCE ON PETROGRAD. LONDON, August 15
The latest report from Russia is that |i. decisive advance on Petrograd is pending. An Esthonian communique states the Esthonians, after violent fighting, recaptured Kalmotka and Cbalbino and their advance continues on the left 'hank of the Luga River.
Alexandroviea was retaken by tho bayonet. An enemy battalion was annihilated on the Porliou front, and the attackers broke through towards Isarevolz.
ALLIED DWINA SUCCESS. FURTHER PARTICULARS. LONDON, Aug. 15. Further details show that the Allies army on'"the Archangel front secuied an absolute and complete victory over the Bolsheviks on the Dwina river front. The attacking troops marched through forests on both banks of tlie river on a dark night, capturing or avoiding enemy patrols. They took up positions in the enemy’s rear and on bis flank. The first enemy notification of their presence was a hurricane bombardment from anti-Bolshevik Russian and British batteries. Gunboats and motor launches heavily armed, and machine guns co-operated. The extreme mobility of the launches was most effective. All points of possible retreat were guarded by detachments of Russian cavalry. The enemy force were completely surrounded. The attackers ceased fire simultaneously and the British forces charged all the villages with the bayonet. 51 any of the enemy surrendered immediately. Fifteen hundred were taken prisoner in one spot. Many \\ ei o killed. Practically none escaped. Most of the enemy guns and machine guns wore captured. The Allied casualties are believed to be of the lightest. All objectives were reachedThere are no enemy troops now north of Ivotlas.
Any further Allied advance, however is not anticipated.
COST OF ASSISTANCE. LONDON, Aug. 15
It is announced that the cost of the British assistance rendered in Russia in flighting against the Bolsheviki, including* naval, military, aerial support and otherwise, from tlie time of the armistice to 31st July, is £20,000,000.

In the House of Commons, Mr Chamboilain (Chancellor of the Exchequer) announced that permission had been given by Britain to flic Finnish Government to raise a loan in Britain. There was a condition imposed that the loan must ho all expended to pay for the purchase of goods in Britain. I
