STRIKE TROUBLES.

HITCH IN SETTLEMENT. SYDNEY, August 17. The senmeu’s officials refuse to divulge ilw. result of the mass meeting of seamen yesterday. It is understood the meeting decided to rescind all its previous resolutions in view of the wire. The men, it is stated, unanimously agreed not to resume work until after a definite statement. has been received from Senator Mlillon as to the 'Government’s real attitude.
The present position is that the seamen's meeting stands adjourned until Senator Milieu makes a really definite statement.
No ships will thus be manned until fcither notice. The latest development has caused shipowners to complain many of them having made all preparations to dispatch steamers to-morrow.
