BRITAIN AND THE ARGENTINE
BUENOS AYRES, ilug. I)
There arc evidences that the diplomatic relations of .Britain and the Argentine Republic are strained at present. The British Ambassador, Sir Reginald I.over is about to leave for England. He states, however, that Iris pending visit to Loudon is merely to obtain a rest. He denies that it is the result of any threatened rupture be tween the Argentine and Britain. The Buenos Ayres newspaper “La Nacion” declares that the Argentine -Minister to Britain is now leaving London.
The paper adds: “Thus there is tile retirement of both -Ministers. These are traceable to the purchase' by the Argentine of a steamer which purchase, Britain has refused to recognise.”
Another Argentine newspaper states that the cause of the crisis is that the Argentine has what is considered, a hostile attitude towards British capitalists with investments in the Argentine.
