THURSDAY, JULY 81st. (Before E. C. l.evvey Esq., S.M.) LICENSING ACT. The police charged two offenders with'being found on licensed premises, 'Commercial Hotel), at 11.50 p.m., on oth inst. After hearing Sergt. Folley and Constable Bennett and explanation of the defendants, a conviction was.entered in one. case and a fine of 40s and 7s costs was inflicted, and in the other case the excuse was accepted and the charge dismissed.

CIVIL. J. Parkhill, (Mr Park), v. George Tainui, claim £8 7s 6d. Judgment by default for amount with costs £1 12s 6d.
