POLLARDS PICTURES.
To-night in the Princess Theatre Pollai'ds will present the Select picture’s dazzling society play “Mrs Leffiugwell's Boots,” starring the only Constance Talrnadge iu the leading role. Womankind is sometimes referred to as the fair sex, at other times as the unfair sex, and at still other times as the expensive sex It is in this latter aspect that they are dealt with in the Select feature “ Mrs Lelfiugwell’s Boots.” But they were not boots, they were shoes, and unusual shoes, so unusual that he could not be mistaken. There they were iu another man’s apartments, and they had a pair of feet in them. It needed only one guess to tell him that they were his wife’s feet. Such is the central point in this Select drama. “ The Fatal Ring ” serial is represented by “The Short Circuit,” the i Ith episode of this splendid Pathe serial.
On Monday a great musical treat will be given by the young English prirna donna Carrie Laucely, and her melodious maids.

“MISSING,”—FRIDAY.
The greatest picture yet filmed “Missing,” is announced for Friday next at the Opera lioucs by Mr H. McLean. The famous producer, J. Stuart Blackton, gives in 6-acts, with an all star cast a magnificent screen adaptation of Mrs Humphrey Ward’s widely read novel “Missing.” “Missing” is destined to rank as one of the biggest and finest things that have been suppled for the screen. Most of the action is in the beautful green countryside of England and from a scenic point alone, th c picture is an entrancing spectacle. One poigant scene in “Missing” shows how a young soldier has to leave his bride of a week for the front. As the moment of their last hour before his leave-taking pass, they watch the clock, and even turn it back to steal a few precious moments. By singing a little love song, Nell wins back the memory of her soldier husband, one! so saves bis life. The soldier is wounded, and all efforts to restore bis memory have failed until the young wife comes to the rescue. Tiic sound of a favourite song of the soldier and his bride before their marriage restores the soldier’s memory. That beautiful and gifted young actress Sylvia Breamer, plays the bride, and Robert Gordon is sceu as the young lieutenant. Winter Hall', Thomas Meiglinn and Ola Jane Humphrey—all well known in New Zealand are also cast in important parts. “Missing” will be most impressve. A bidden chorister will -sing the song, “.Bonnie Sweet Bessie,” greatly enhancing the realism of the great dramatic moments where the song occurs in the play. It is the most irresistible attracitioii for many years. The programme wll .also include the second episode of the serial “The Eagle’s Eye.”
