WESTLAND A. & P. ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of the members of the Association was held at the Public Hall, Ivokatahi, on Saturday, stli July, there being a large attendance of members, Mr L. H. Morel, the President, occupying the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were received and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President—Mr L. H. Morel. Vice-President —Mr P. Wall. Treasurer—Mr James Fleming. Secretary—Mr M. Houston. Committee—Messrs T. P. O’Neil, F. C. Marshall, J. Vallanec, D- Clarke, J. Monk, W. O’Reilly, R. A. Harcourt, N. Harris, and Jas. Smith. The following resolutions were carried : (1) That all casual wages from the commencement of working the kiln ho at the rate of 14s per day. (2) That the Manager’s salary bo i raised to £5 per week. | (3) That the Association’s shed bo moved close to the kiln for the purpose of affording extra storage for lime. | (4) That the re-bricking of portion | of the kiln be left to the Chairman and ! Mr F. Wall to arrange. I (5) That Mr Langford he thanked \ for his offer to submit details of electric power and lighting scheme, j (6) That the whole of the executive i be appointed a committee to deal with ; the matter of securing a suitable piece j of land up to JO acres for the proposed ] Government Demonstration Farm, and I that tlie following farmers bo approacbI ed for offers of an area, viz., Messrs ,T. Monk, F. C. Marshall, T. Crough, Jr., Wm. Graham, F. Wall and Mrs Moynihan.
