BUCHAREST, July 16. Last week in connection with the advance of the Roumanians against Budapest a force of Hungarian troops who were withdrawn from -the Czecho-Slo-vak front, attacked the Roumanians on the Thiess River. Fighting continues there when advices left on the 10th.
BELA KUN FALLEN. LONDON, July 17. > It is reported that Bela Kun, the head of the Hungarian Soviet Governmentment, has now resigned. It is also stated that his Bolshevik troops have deserted on the Czecho-Slovak front.

The Daily Chronicle reports that a settlement has been reached in the sensational Michelham will suit, over the properties of the late Baron Michelham. The settlement provides a substantial income for Lord and Lady Michelham.
DROUGHT IN CANADA. OTTAWA, July 17
The Canadian Council of Agriculture has received repcorts indicating that half a million cattle in. Southern Albert are on the verge of starvation. This is due to a continued drought which has destroyed all the pasturage. It is proposed to transport the cattle, to Northern Alberta or Manitobia, where food is plentiful,' owing to adequate rains there.
U.S. ARMY TROUBLES. (Received this day at 9.20 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 18
The House of Representatives appointed a special Committee to investigate the brutalities in the American Army. Guilty officers have clxcapcd with a light punishment. One officer who returned to camp was beaten nearly to death. Two Germans attempted to assassinate Major Cockril, the Provost Marshal of the American Forces at Coblenz. Ho was not injured. His assailants escaped.
