SHANTUNG TREATY.

President of the Chinese National Welfare League has received a, message from Pekin saying a delegation of Chinese patriots endeavoured to commit suicide in the presence of Husln Chong, President of China as a protest against the Shantung Settlement. Three of the delegation succeeded in severely wounding themselves. Husln Chong told the delegation that the Treaty which gives Shaming to Japan must be signed. , WASHINGTON, July 11. Diplomatic advices from Pekin indicate that the Chinese Government has been placed by the refusal of the Chinese delegates to sign the Treaty. It was pointed out that China fears Japan may now withdraw troops from Kiacliau unless China signs the Treaty.
