Dwellers on the Coast at Cromer saw a glare in the sky, and a burning mass fall into the sea. The wreckage was washed ashore at Sheringham.
A HANDSOME OFFER. LONDON, July 16. The “Daily Express” offers a prize of .CIO,OOO for a commercial aeroplane return flight from Great Britain to India and South Africa, carrying a minimum of one ton. An Australian flight has been excluded owing to the Commonwealth’s earlier offer. Hie competitors will be judged on reliability and airworthiness. The competition aims at establishing the fact that India and South Africa, in spite of the shortage of shipping, are easily communicable with from Loudon.
HOME POLITICS. LONDON, July 16. Hon. Bonar Law, in the Commons, said he had consulted the Law Office, and found there were no grounds for proceedings against Sir E. Carson, relative to his speech cabled on the 12tli.
CARSON’S SPEECH. (Received This Day at 8 a.m.f LONDON, July 17. Mr dynes moved the adjournment of the Commons, in order to call attention to the Government’s failure to prosecute Sir E. Carson for his recent speech, inciting violence, and calculated to endanger the safety of the Realm. the motion was rejected by 217 to 73, after the Attorney-General and Hon. Bonar Law had emphasised that no law was broken. Sir E. Carson’s speech being hypothetical. BURDEN OF COAL INCREASE. LONDON, July 16.
Many of the trade unionists are expressing strong resentment at the w hole principle of the Government’s Gs a ton coal price increase. They are angry because the Government proposes to allow the whole cost of the increase to fall on the consumers instead of making such increase as may be necessary to come out of general taxation.
ENEMY ALIENS. LONDON, July 16. The Parliamentary Standing Immigration Committee have resolved to prohibit any enemy aliens from landing in Britain from Belgium without the Homo Scoretary ’s permission.

In the House of Commons Right Hon. R. Chamberlain, (Chancellor of tile Exchequer) refused to increase the income tax exemption to £250, (as demanded by the workers), but lie agreed to increase the allowance for a wife and first child.
