I OUTBREAKS IN GERMANY. ' LONDON, June 25. ! A great 1 outbreak of lawlessness in j Berlin followed demonstrations for and against the Treaty. Armed mobs plun- ! dered many shops, robbed pedestrians | and attacked soldiers and police all ! night long. There was shooting in the streets and j serious disturbances at Mannheim. Shops and houses were plundered. The troops resisted attempts of the rioters to i enter the barracks using grenades. JThir- | ty persons were seriously injured and j two hundred arrests made, j There were Spartaeists riots at Cassell and martial law was proclaimed. An attempt to storm the prison was unsuccessful, but food warehouses were seized and firearms freely used, causing a number of casualties.

MILITARY REVOLT AVERTED. COPENHAGEN, June 26,

A military revolt in Germany has (been averted. The Generals have favourably replied to 'Herr Noske’s request to support the Government. Groper Chief of Staff, has withdrawn his resignation until the crisis is over.

ANARCHY AT BERLIN. COPENHAGEN, June 26. There are the wildest demonstrations in Berlin, with plundering of shops and robbing of wayfarers. Band of robbers have held up trams and trains, to rob, even taking rings from women’s lingers.

STATE OF SIEGE DECLARED COPENHAGEN, June 26. Riots at Hamburg culminated in Spnrtacist attacks on tlici central railway station and the police stations, which the Spartacists have secured. They did this after a mid-night coup. The Fire Brigades hosed the crowd and prevented repeated attempts to fire the Stock Exchange. Troops have cleared the streets, and the town has been declared in a state

of siege. The Government is hurrying more troops to Hamburg.
