FOOTBALL.

The meeting called for last evening for the purpose of forming a senior team in Hokitika drew a good attendance. Mr J. Fowler was voted to the chair. It was reSolved to form a club to be known as the Hokitika Football Club. Officers were elected as follows: President—Mr D. J. Evans. Vice-Presidents—To include all vicepresidents of the former local Clubs. Treasurer—Mr D. Dec. Secretary—Mr W. Stopforth. Selection Committee—M. Houston, W. Wilson, L. Hills, J. Fowler, and I). Dowell. b'elegate to the West. Coast Rugby tinibn—Mr L. Hills.

The subscription was fixed at 51. for senior and 2/6 for junior members. It was resolved to run a junior competition for those players left over after the seniors had been picked. The competition to be held only for Westland district teams and to be controlled by the Sub-Union, the competition 10 consist of two local teams of one or more country teams. Mr J. Fowler presented a Silver Cup for the juniors competition, the offer being greatly appreciated by the meeting. A list of members was then drawn up, the names of 45 players being handed in.

As the fixtures have been drawn up all players are requested to attend at Cass Square on Saturday afternoon. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated « very successful meeting.
