A NEW EXPEDITION

i The projected Antarctic Expedition j under the leadership of Cope, will consist of fiftv-eight men. These will divide into three parties. Twenty-two will remain at New Harbour, and the second and third parties on Scott Island which is within the Antarctic Circle, and on Ross Island, forming [ the gateway to Ross Sea. After laiul- | ing these parties, the Terra Nova reI turns to Wellington, and loads provisions ,sufficient for four years. She leaves Wellington in the summer of 1021, and visits the three parties. After that, the Terra Nova circumnavigates the southern continent, attempt- ! ing to reach a Cape, (name unstated) I and in the winter of 1922 proceeding along down the coast-line. In the following summer the ship will attempt to visit Coates Land where sho may he compelled to winter, instead of South Shetlands, not attempting to cross Weddel Sea. Constant wireless communication will be maintained with Jfnlklaud Islands.
