AUCKLAND, April 23
The transport lonic arrived here tonight at 9 o’clock. She will he examined by the Health Officer in the morning, and, if declared a clean ship, the troops will disembark about 9 o’clock. The Southern men will leave by train in the evening..
NEW ZEALAND DRAFTS.
WELLINGTON, April 23
Official advice has been received of the departure of two more steamers from the United Kingdom with New Zealand troops aboard. Tho particulars are:—
The Pakelia (returning draft No. 231) left the United Kingdom on the 12th of April due in Wellington on the 27th May. The draft comprises 1373 troops.
The Toftta( returning draft 251), left tlie United Kingdom on the 18th April, and is due at Wellington or Port Chalmers on the 2nd of June. The draft comprises 520 troops, 5 civilians, 4 women and 2 children. This makes the number of New Zealand troops at present afloat and homeward hound 10,242.
