NORTHERN UNION QUESTION WELLINGTON, April 22.

'At tliis evening’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Football Union, tlie following letter from the Secretary of tile English Rugby Union was read: "I beg to inform you that a special meeting of our Full Committee has been held, at which the position of the Northern Union players was considered. At that meeting the views of your Union were carefully gone into by my committee. They decided they cannot recommend to a general meeting of the Clubs any alteration in the professional rules. I would point out that, without the rules being altered, they have not the right to delegate further powers of reinstatement to your union.”

The matter will be discussed by the Council of the New Zealand Union at its next meeting.

At a meeting of the West Coast Rugby Union it was resolved that the Southern Division be asked to send a delegate to the next meeting so that a complete list of fixtures for the season may be arranged.
