GOING STRONG.

TRENTHAM DOMINION ART UNION.

Interviewed by a representative the other day, the Secretary of the Trentliam Dominion Art Union (Mr James Mclntosh), stated that the Art Union was now ‘going strong ’ all over New Zealand. Committees are working zealously to make a success of this great project for providing scholarships for the children of New Zealand’s soldiers and sailors who have suffered in the great war. It was anticipated that fhe public would welcome such a scene, hut the reception which it Inis received is past all expectation in its enthusiasm. A great many workers are devoting much of tlieir time to the sale of tickets and the public are responding to their appeals readily. Besides the sympathy which the general public feel towards such a cause this Art Union has the additional attraction of some splendid prizes totalling in value about £6,300. Every 1/ ticket has au equal chance of winning these prizes, and it certainly seems that as a sporting proposition they are as claimed in the Art Union advertisements, “ better than ‘ Tatis.’ ”

Tickets aie on sale in shops and privately throughout New Zealand, or may be had direct from tlie General Secretary, Wellington. Fuller particulars arc given in the large advertisements.
