(From iV Correspondent). On Monday (lie Tercmaknu River and Greenstone Creek were both in heavy Hood. Tht Greenstone Creek is altering its eonrse and seems to lie going to give further trouble. Mr It. Cheirie, who lias been on active service for some time, and hits now returned, was looking up old friends in Kutiiara last week. All were pleased to welcome the soldier hack. The pupils of (lie Kuinara State and Convent Schools went hack to face their duties on Moltdiiy morning after an exceedingly good holiday of about- nine weeks. Mrs Morrish a popular business woman of this town is t hinking, of closing down her business owing to ill-health, and will, no doubt, he leaving this district. She will he much -missed in this little town, where she always took an active part in its welfare, and was a devoted church worker. On Wednesday next (the 20th), if line, the Kuinara Tennis Club intend holding their opening day when the members of the All Saint’s Club. (Hokitika) have been invited up for a game.
