He has begged the Crown to give him time to make a confession Dearo declares that he himself originated the plot, which had been extended to the city of Oporto, where "another gang awaited "the President. During the commotion following the firing, the Commandant of the Lisbon Garrison was Rilled. Twelve personas were wounded. Tho public are parading the streets, crying “Death to tho Traitors.” Dr. Camanho, leader of the Unionists in tho Chamber of Deputies, and Senior Magalhaes Lima, leader of tho Republicans have been arrested, a letter address to the latter (Lima) has been found or President Paes’s assassin.
