BIG FT RE AT NELSON . NELSON, Nov. 13
Early this morning, a fire broke out in the pulp stores of Kirkpatrick aim Co’s iam factory, and before it was extinguished it- destroyed the pulp store, cask stoic, and main canning department, also their contents, including valuable, and, at present, irreplaceable machinery. The main factory was saved bv the strenuous exertions of the. firemen. The canning department will be idle during the coming season. Estimates of tbe damage and insurances are not available.
CARGO OF OIL. AUCKLAND, Nov. 14
The American brigantine Jeanette, 93 days out from Ran Francisco, arrived here to-day, with a cargo of ease oil.
MAIN TRUNK SLIPS CLEARED. Wellington; not. i l The Railway Department advises that- the slips near Mataroa on the Alain Trunk line have been cleared, and the express is now running through.
