Tho “Daily News” Geneva correspondent-, writing on Wednesday, says: Chaos and confusion prevail in Aus-tria-Hungary. Court circles arc upset, the Emperor's recent- flight to Budapest occurred in a moment of weakness 'and intense mental depression. He has now returned to Vienna and is letormined to face every event, in the ading light of Imperial glory. lie makes a brave and dignified figure. Machine guns sweep the streets tnd many have been killed and wound'd. It is difficult to know whether the Imperialists or the KaroTyists or the unruly workers are getting the mastery. ROYALISTS AND HUNGARY. LONDON, October 31. The Archduke Joseph, representing the Emperor, continues to refuse to recognise M. Karolyis authority in Hungary. Archduke Joseph lias decreed Hungary to have full control of her foreign affairs and her army. INTERRUPTIONS. BERNE, October 31. Communication, between Agram. Finnic, Budavest, and Vienna has been dompliotely interrupted. The Czechoslovaks cut tho railways connecting Berlin and Vienna through the Odorburg at Bonebach. German trains arc held up at- Sohandnii. There lias been a violent- anti-German outbreak of pillage and incendiarism in Slavonia and Croatia. The German quarter of Pazega is in flames. Esseg and Paernlc have been destroyed . MUNICH. October 31. It- is reported that a garrison at Fiume, including the officers have sided with the Croatian Council.
