ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET

PRICES A SHADE EASKR. (By Telegraph.—Special to Cuardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs Matson and Co. report as fob lows regarding the above sales on Wednesday. Fat cattle. —There was a large yarding including several extra good lines. The demand was good for prime quality. but unfinished was a shade easier. West Coast buyers wore operating. Extra steers sold to £3O, prime £22 10s to 027 ; unfinished and light £l(s to (J |s : cows and heifers £l2 to £l6 and iin to ITS for extra. Store cattle.—There was a large yarding. mostly of dealers lines of H and <1 year old steers, which were all passed. Small pons of‘yearlings sold at £5 os to £7 ; dry cows £6 to £0 Ids; but no lines were sold which would give an indication of the market. Fat sheep—There was a yarding, similar to last week and prices all round were about the same. The quality y&s very uneven. But wethers sold to 525; prime 42s to 475; lighter 3/s to 41s; shorn wethers 30s to 345; best ewes to 49s fid ; prime 38s fi to 445; lighter and inferior 26s to 29s 6d. There were practically no shorn ewes yarded. Store sheep. There was a small entry mostly of wethers and hoggets, which sold about equal to last- week’s prices. Best wethers brought from £2 to £2 Is 6d, best ewe hoggets 26s to 28s; best ewe hoggets 32s to 355; and all backward sotrs were dull of sale.
