General Haig reports as the result of local lighting during the night, we advanced our line to the left hank of Ecaillon river, southwards of Thiant, the western portion of which is in our possession. M’e further progressed between Valenciennes and Tournai. The enemy’s resistance on this front is increasing in Tournai sector. As the remit of sharp fighting during the night ,ve expelled the enemy from the village if Oreq and woods in the neighbourlood of Fro.vennes. We are within a nile ■of the town.
