ARAII'URA FAT STOCK SALE-

The weather yesterday for the above fixture was admitted to bo the worst for many years, and as it teemed from noon on the conditions were decidedly unpleasant-. There was a representative number of buyers present, and competition was keen, though prices shewed an easing off compared with the last sale. Beef was still £3 and upwards in some cases. Tbe quality was very good, especially the South Westland cattle. The first shorn sheep ot the season were yarded and sold well. Alcssrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold follows:—On account of Air H. Rninbach, 17 fat wethers (shorn) at 32s 6d; on account Air H. Johnston 27 fat hoggets (shorn) at 30s; on account Air .Tno. Collett 1 blk. at £2O 2a fid, 1 cow at £l9 2s fid; on account Aliss Elbe Donovan 1 blk. at £l4 15s; on account Jas Donovan 1 stag at £l4 10s, 19 blks at £ls 7s fid; on account Alossrs J. R. and S. Wallace 2 blks. at £3O, 2 at £26 ss, 2 at £26, 4 at £25, 2 at £24 15s, 5 at £24 12s fid, 2 at £24 10s, 2 at £24 2s fid (averaging £25 9s); on account Alossrs A. and T. Mcßride 2 blks. at £27 10s, 2 at- £25 15s, 2 at £25 12s fid, 2 at- £24 17s fid, 2 at £23 17s fid, 4 at £23 7s fid, 2 at £23 ss, 2 at £2;' 7s fid (averaging £24 6s 9d).

Alossrs M. Houston and Co. report as follows: We held our usual sale at the above yards yesterday, the usual buyers being present. Competition' was not so keen as at last sale, with the resuit that- prices dropped hack considerably, nevertheless beef was still high, reaching in most eases 67/6 per hundred. Our yarding comprised 20 bullocks, which were mostly unfinished. We sold on account of Air H. Diedrieh 1 bullock at £2l 2s 6d, 3 at- £l6 2s fid, 3 at £ls 17s fid, 4 at £ls 2s fid, 3 at £l4 10s, 1 at £ls 2s fid, 5 at. £ls 10s.
