Yesterday was an extremely wet day and as the day wore on the weather got worse, the'?night being an extremely wet and boisterous one. Some, of the lowlying parts of the town became flooded as a result of the incessant downpour. A waters icier, named Wililam Preston who was admitted to Westport hospital on Saturday, suffering from peritonitis in a very acute form, died there on Sunday. Deceased was a married man and leaves a widow and foul- of a young family.
Pollard’s Pictures at- -e Princess Theatre- last evening presented an attractive drama in “Womanhood” or “'file' Oftry of the Nation,” founded on the supposition of an invasion of America and the subsequent stirring up of tbe people to repel the invaders. The supports were also good and included further chapters of the serial “The Lass of tlio Lumberlands.”
