(By Telegraph—Special to Guardian.) CTTRISTCHUR OH, This Day. Messrs Matson anti Co. report as follows regarding the above sales on Wed nesday.
Fat Cattle.—There was a small entry, the quality was good and prices very high. West Coast buyers wore operating. Rest steers sold to £2B 10s, good £2O to £24 10s ;oows and heifers £l2 to £lO. and up to £l9 for extra, steer beef making up to 02s Od per hundred. Store cattle.—There was a medium entry, mostly of mixed sorts and the demand was dull and passing freguent. Rain is wanted to give the market a better tone. Dry cows sold at £0 to £9 10s: IS months steers, good sorts, £0 10s to £7 os; yearlings, fair condition £4.
Fat sheep.—The yarding was considerably larger than usual and the market opened easier all round and got worse as it progressed, all sheep being difficult to sell at the end. The yarding was very mixed. Best wethers sold to 535; prime 41s to 4(is Gd; lighter 45s to 39s Gd ; shorn wethers 32s to 40s best ewes to 48s, prime 38s Gd to 435; lighter and inferior, 23s Gd to 275. A few shorn ewes not very good. 23s Gd lo 2Gs. Store sheep.—'There was a small entry ,mostly wethers and hoggets which sold at prices equal to last week’s, hut it was more difficult to make sales, on account of the continued dry weather. Rest hoggets 28s to 345, best wethers up to £2. ewes and lambs up to 21s all •■minted.
