As reported, it seems scarcely lair . to those attendants who in the past have so distinguished themselves, bv their courtesy and efficiency. , Those subsciibers who have complained are probably aware that the 1 trouble lies in the fact that the stall | has recently undergone some sweep-ino-changes- some members having been removed to other centres, and some being off duty through illness, j. Their places have been filled with; novices who evidently are not yet j sufficiently experienced to keep pace with what is expected ol them it _ must be mo.-t provoking to those ■ of the old staff who, though anxious to please, are thus powerless to tie fend their official reputation As I an old subsetiber, I should like, to j express my aupreciatiou cf the sei- j vices that have been, and arc being, rendered bv the old staff. I am etc., “ SUBSCRIBER.” Hokitika, 6tli Oct., 19x6-
