FRENCH OPERATIONS. LONDON, Sept. 29. A French communique stated north of the Aisne the pursuit continues. We occupied the Forest of Pinoone, and reached Ailette region, and also east of Cliatognon front. The enemy is strong resisting our advance in Champagne. Attacks were launched by the enemy yesterday, particularly north of Grat Rend, where we gained possession of Belleiwe heights. \ FRENCH OPERATIONS. . LONDON, Sep. 29. A French communique states: Yesterday morning our attack was resumed at 3.30. Wo captured the villages of Sommo-Pv and carried the heights northward of Fontaine-ou-Donnois. We have taken more prisoners and guns. The battle continues. Between tho Ailette and the Aisne rivers pressure of our troops is maintained north-eastwards of gaucy. Vigorous local operations gave us ground. 250 prisoners, including 40 officers being captured. A counter attack northward of Allemant completely failed. Further southward we penetrated a ravine from jouy to Aig.v, and occupied these two villages.

A 3.30 a.m. French communique reports: South of St- Quentin we attacked on tho front of Urvillers to Cerjsy and ejected the desperately resisting [ enemy from those villages, which are in our possession. Between Ailette and Aisne rivers we advanced to-day two kilometres 0 11 both sides of Chemin des Dames, and occupied paronv, Filian and Filian-Ostel-lines. On the Champagne front, troops following up attacks obtained important results and captures on the right of JBnuconvillo, enlarging our positions north thereof. Westward we carried Montouvelc, despite bitter enemy resistance. The French, pushing northward, carried Scchnult and advanced two kilometres beyond in the direction of Challenrauge.
