RED ANARCHY RAMPANT. (ITniterl Service Telegrams). •(Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, September ?4. An almost imponetratable veil hides the chaos in Russia from the rest or Europe. The only news ft ng‘mentnriiy atod .intermittently from Allies official agents and occasional ’efureaching Scandinavia, after abandoning their belongings and uribing their way info security. This gives few details of th e dreadful horrors being enacted, but enough is known to show that Russia has sunk to a depth of anarchy wherein incendiarism, murder and infamy of all description is inning riot. Reliable accounts estimates the murders in Potrograd alone at 500 daily. There are no signs of the appearance of any establishing element, and the terrible prospect of anarchy and disorders is already far exceeding the worst French and other revolutions and q,re proceeding unchecked. It is estimated in Paris that s*ven million Russians arc doomed irretrievably to starvation during the coming winter, wherein the absolute break down of the distribution of coaj and firewood, promise to be one of the lesser evils.
fetrograd rations. (Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, September 23. ■Reports state Fetrograd is subsisting mostly upon rats, dogs and mice. This may be an exaggeration but no doubt unbelieveaßle horrors are being suffered arid perpetrated by the workless, foodless population. The British are striving to release nationals including Mr Lockhart.
