Mr and Mrs A. Invin of Woodstock lias been advised that their son Private Andrew Irwin was killed m action on Sept. 3rd. Tim deceased, was a native of Ireland and 4G years of age. lie was a member of the Hokitika Football Club in the early nineties, playing in the forwards, aud was mining at Back Creek for many years. Later he went to Denniston, but enlisted from Wanganui with the Tenth Reinforcements. He went through the Somme and Armeiitiores battles unwounded, but later went into hospital with bronchitis for a long period. Deceased'who was unmarried, leaves a father, mother four sisters, and one brother, (Jack) who is at the, front, having been wounded. The relatives will have the deep sympathy of many friends in their sad less.
