Court servants identified the charred remains of the Czarina, daughters and Duchesses, by jewels found in mins of a burned house where they had lived.

FRANCE AND RUSSIA. NEW YORK, Septembr 20. Tim New York “Times” Paris correspondent states the French Government have published a Yellow Book, containing documents revealing tho origin and development of the late Fran-co-Russian Alliance and showing to bo false, a statement made by the former German Chancellor. Dr Mtichaelis, more than a year ago, that the purposo of the Franeo-Russian Alliance was aggression against Germany. The Yellow Book shows the Alliance was formed for protection against German hegemony in Europe, but not for the purpose of enabling France to reconquer Alsace-Lorraine. The documents prove tho Alliance was purely defensive, and that France anticipated Germany’s onslaught in 1914. The book also reveals that the French generals have correctly estimated the military forces of possible belligerents.
