An enemy attempt to cross the \ esle at Joubhery failed. Our reconnaissances penetrated enemy lines northwest of Bouain. A French communique states: At night-time our troops operating in the region of St. Quentin captured Bonay and progressed northward thereof.

A Fi'C’ch report states: Our troops on the 19th inst. continued their ate tacks in the region westward ot St. Quentin, extending their gams, despite a stubborn resistance. \\ e advanced beyond Contesconrt, which is ours Southward we reached the outskirts of Benay. On the plateau westwards of Jouy the enemy again coun-ter-attacked unsuccessfully. We inflicted heavv losses to the enemy and appreciable increased our advance.
