It is understood that Italy has taken llic initiutive in recognising a new Jugo-Slav movement, and it is expected that in Italy a Jugo-Slav Legion will be raised to fight with the Italians. Arrangements have been made for the return to the coalmines daily, of two thousand miner-soldiers below the highest grade. The Press Bureau reports : —The coal lioaver.s at Liverpool have ceasel work. The stoppage is holding up a large number of vessels that are returning to America for the purpose of bringing American and Canadian troops. The Cabinet lias decided to employ naval rating to coal these vessels. The War Department announces that American troops, from France, have landed at Archangel, but the size of the force is not disclosed.
Major-General Janm, of the French Army, is going to Siberia to take command of the Czecho-Slovak Army. Officials say the Czecho-Slovaks will continue operations all the winter. A Japanese communique from Tokio states that- captures made at Khabarovsk by the Japanese include a hundred and fifty prisoners, some German officers, seventeen river gunboats and a hundred and twenty guns.
Miss Wanda Juetungzer, a telegraphist. has been arrested. According to an official of the Justice Department she has confessed that- she stole confidential Washington telegrams and handed them to persons whom she. believed would transmit them to Germany.
